Prior to joining the TCC Group, Mecca worked as an arts practitioner – carefully choosing projects whose goals intersected around social impact, sustainability, and community with an emphasis on public space, emerging artists, urban gardens, and human development. The core of her arts practice was centered in collaboration, social navigation, and awakened doing. In addition to her consulting work, Mecca is a certified urban horticulturist and stays active with creating edible landscapes. As a green designer, she is a strong advocate for food not lawns as an alternative to traditional home and neighborhood land and playscaping. Mecca has an M.A. in Arts, Entertainment + Media Management from Columbia College Chicago, and a B.S. in Film + Video from Rochester Institute of Technology.
