Samantha Hackney is a Consultant at TCC Group, bringing over seven years of experience in international nonprofit management and consulting with expertise in strategic planning, program design, fundraising, operations, and communications.

Before joining TCC Group, Samantha oversaw the development of a new nonprofit—the Haiti Development Institute (HDI) at The Boston Foundation. During her time at HDI she managed a large grant portfolio of Haitian grassroots nonprofits, and devised a unique three-tiered capacity assessment tool to evaluate grassroots organizations’ ability to effect change in their communities. She also designed and facilitated the only conference on philanthropy in Haiti, the Haiti Funders Forum, for 170 attendees, including speakers from the Haitian government, USAID, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Oxfam, and others that used the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a solutions framework. Finally, she grew HDI’s nascent philanthropic advising practice to increase the size and impact of philanthropy in Haiti by working with family foundations, such as the Ansara Family Fund, and independent foundations, including the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Previously, Samantha worked as a consultant at The Philanthropic Initiative’s Center for Global Philanthropy, where she was the project manager for a variety of initiatives, including: managing a cross-sector committee on their Ebola response and advising an emerging impact investing network. She also worked for Southwest Airlines helping to adapt their very successful domestic triple bottom line approach to business to a new context in Latin America. Samantha is a graduate of Amherst College and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
