Leading in Difficult Times

Still looking for a strategy to make it through tough times?

At TCC Group, we have watched the effects of the economic downturn on the nonprofit, philanthropic and corporate sectors over the past months. Organizations that are doing a great deal of good are now facing hard times, and many have come to us, unsure of their options. Unlike other downturns, the current recession has forced government, corporations, foundations, and individual donors to retrench, rethink, and reprioritize strategies. All sectors will undoubtedly evolve as a result of having weathered this crisis, although it remains to be seen which emerging practices will persist once the economy begins to recover. We are actively working with our clients to find solutions, and we applaud their willingness to take exceptional measures to address today's challenges.

In order to better understand the practices nonprofits employ to reach financial sustainability, we surveyed nearly 700 organizations, and we're sharing that knowledge to provide a framework for decision-making in today's economy. Our latest report, The Sustainability Formula, provides an overview of the survey and offers specific recommendations to help nonprofits in these difficult times.

Our Leading In Difficult Times series addresses how corporations, funders, and nonprofits can balance their long-term visions for change and meet the near-term needs that are emerging. Specifically, TCC has produced the following papers that address the following topics:

By posting our research, our stories, and our ideas, we hope to see organizations achieve their goals and continue to benefit the individuals, families, communities that depend on their programs and efforts.
