PROGRAM PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION ON A SHOE STRING
In 2007, Computer Associates, Inc., (CA) a business consulting and software development company that helps clients achieve business goals by building, integrating and supporting mission-critical applications and systems, faced a large internal re-organization. To counterbalance the re-organization, CA Community Affairs staff members were tasked with finding a way to increase employee volunteerism and community involvement in order to show the "softer" side of CA to both employee and external audiences. The challenge was that senior management asked them to keep costs low while engaging larger number of employees than ever before.
Retained by CA, the TCC Group helped the company plan and run several key employee volunteer programs, bringing significant impact to the communities where CA has offices as well as to participating employees.
EFFICIENT EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
Computer Associates had minimal staff to run a program with thousands of employees. By utilizing TCC's expertise in employee involvement programs, CA was able to design and implement the programs in a cost-efficient manner. TCC helped CA design and implement a series of volunteer programs that engaged a large number of CA employees, including "CA Together in Action," a global volunteer week in the fall in which over 30 offices around the world participated and "Philanthropy Day" in the spring in the US. In addition, Earth Day activities were coordinated among employees worldwide. TCC helped CA find and identify non-profit partners and develop the volunteer project activities that employees took part in around the world.
