Yet for those thinking about hosting a convening, the first step is answering a fundamental question: Should you be convening to begin with? In our more than 40 years of designing, leading, and evaluating convenings of all sizes and formats, we have seen that prospective conveners can create better outcomes by first assessing whether they or their organization have the credibility, cachet, diverse network, and financial resources to be the agent of change. Start planning your next convening by completing our Convening Pre-Conditions Diagnostic Tool. This diagnostic is optimal for potential conveners who have done preliminary planning, but is also relevant for those who are just starting down the path. The tool is administered as a survey through an online platform and while it is possible for this diagnostic to be completed by just one person, we recommend that several of the people involved in the decision-making and/or planning for the convening complete it. After everyone has completed the survey, a custom report will be generated that can inform strategic conversations related to preparing for a convening. The diagnostic report will help conveners home in on a clear and powerful reason to convene and prepare the convener to more effectively execute their role. To learn more, contact us here.
