Our Team Candice Smith Consultant, Nonprofit Effectiveness Email Candice Using the power of private-public collaboration to solve persistent social issues “To be successful is to be helpful, caring and constructive, to make everything and everyone you touch a little bit better.” – Norman Vincent Peale Candice’s expertise lies in corporate social responsibility, guiding foundations and corporations in partnering with nonprofits to solve persistent social issues using the capacity-building model — helping to build their infrastructure, staff, internal knowledge and their capabilities to function on a higher level as an organization . At TCC Group, Candice’s understanding of strategic planning, strategic thinking, and capacity building helps ensure that nonprofits understand how to fill gaps that prevent them from operating most effectively. She is working with Prudential Insurance, collaborating with the company in supporting its core nonprofit partners in capacity-building. She is also engaging Prudential employees in understanding their own gifts and talents and how to target volunteer opportunities with local nonprofit organizations. Candice comes to TCC Group from Toyota Motor North America, where her vision led to the company’s first corporate social responsibility department, leading the automaker to funding local social-sector nonprofits. She pioneered Toyota’s first initiative to support under-resourced communities holistically in the Dallas area by building relationships and establishing the company as a trusted and knowledgeable advocate and partner to the community. She and her team developed and piloted multiple programs, rooted in equity and inclusion, to support community resiliency and youth development. She also initiated the company’s first employee volunteer program. She has been a member of the boards of the Dallas/Rockwall Leadership Council of Texas Health Resources community initiative, and the Plano (TX) Independent School District Education Foundation.
