Guiding public-health program management to best practices in working within communities

“Everything must change/Nothing stays the same.” – Benard Ighner

Dwyane believes that strategy is the key to true change. As a member of the Integrated Initiatives team, Dwyane excels in ingenuity, novel thinking, and programming, recognizing there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to success in client work. He knows that true commitment to driving positive change is rooted in the ability to remain attuned to the communities we serve.

At TCC Group, Dwyane is working with ViiV Healthcare, a nonprofit foundation working in the HIV sphere, in their specialized ACCELERATE! Initiative, which funds community organizations that focus on Black gay queer men. He guides ViiV in connecting with organizations doing the work of producing programming that is relevant to this community, and advises them on grantees and best practices.

He is an expert in grassroots public-health program management, serving as a thought partner in helping community organizations. Skilled and compassionate in community engagement, program development, and grant-making initiatives with communities of color, LGBTQ+, youth, and other marginalized populations, Dwyane integrates knowledge of social and economic matters and health with strategies to implement innovative approaches to community challenges.

Dwayne comes to TCC Group from his work at AIDS United as a senior program manager, where he was responsible for a multi-million-dollar portfolio funded by the Elton John AIDS Foundation, supporting multiple organizations producing programs focusing on policy, advocacy, and HIV treatment and prevention. He oversaw the entire grant-making process, including grants management and selection of recipient organizations, acting as liaison and strategist, assisting the institution, and managing multiple relationships and diversified goals. Prior to that, he was a program manager at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, responsible for prevention efforts focused on queer men of color.
